The Six Stages in the Greening of Ted Hughes

Terry Gifford introduces his talk on the ‘greening’ of Ted Hughes:

This presentation, titled ‘The Six Stages of the Greening of Ted Hughes’, is based on my chapter ‘Hughes and Nature’ in Ted Hughes in Context, ed. Terry Gifford (Cambridge: Cambridge University Press, 2018). At the invitation of the Torquay Museum Society to give a talk in their Zoom winter talks programme on 2 March 2021 I made a Powerpoint talk with a distinctly Devon flavour, thanks to the photographs of Devon rivers offered by Mark Wormald. It was pre-recorded, made available for a week and a live question and answer session with members of the Society then took place on 2 March. I am very grateful to the Torquay Museum Society for their permission to allow The Ted Hughes Society to make this talk available.
