The Society was delighted to see the recent announcement by the University of Huddersfield of The Ted Hughes Network Scholarship, a fully funded PhD studentship on an aspect of Ted Hughes’s work.
As well as a wonderful opportunity for an outstanding student to benefit in their research from the riches of the archives now assembled at Heritage Quay, it is also, we believe, the first ever PhD studentship created specifically to support Ted Hughes studies. We offer our congratulations to Dr Steve Ely, Director of the Ted Hughes Network, who will supervise the successful student, on securing funding for this studentship, and to the University of Huddersfield for awarding it.
